What a move usually runs

These are planning estimates for local Houston moves, not locked quotes. The details farther down move the number up or down. The written quote we send you is the one that holds.

Why there is no single number on this page

No two moves are the same. A 1-bedroom on the third floor with no elevator is a different job than the same apartment on the ground floor. Any mover who gives you an exact price without asking questions is guessing, and that guess usually grows on moving day.

We do it the honest way: tell us the basics, we send a written quote, and that number holds. The only standard add-on is the flat $100 for gas and supplies, which you already saw above. Call or text and you will usually have it within about 15 minutes.

Pricing questions, answered

How much do movers cost in Houston?
Most local Houston moves run between $300 and $1,500. A studio or 1-bedroom apartment is usually $300 to $600, a 2-bedroom is $500 to $900, and larger homes go up from there. Every move also has a flat $100 gas and supplies fee, and you get the exact price in writing before anything is loaded.
Do Houston movers charge a gas or fuel fee?
Summit charges one flat $100 gas and supplies fee on every move. It covers fuel, shrink wrap, tape, and moving pads, and it is the only standard add-on. There are no surprise fuel surcharges or hidden costs stacked on at the end.
Are moving quotes estimates or final prices?
The ranges on this page are planning estimates. Your written quote is the final price. Once we know the size of your move, the distance, and any stairs or packing involved, we put the number in writing, and that number holds on moving day.
What is the cheapest way to move long-distance from Houston?
Partial-load moving is usually the cheapest option for a long-distance move from Houston. You share truck space with other shipments heading the same direction and pay only for the space you use, which can cut the cost 30% to 50% versus a full truck. A 1-bedroom from Houston to Dallas runs about $800 to $1,500 partial-load.
How fast can I get a moving quote?
Usually about 15 minutes. Call or text (832) 280-1699 with your move size, dates, and destination, and we send a written quote back fast. No in-home visit is required for most local moves.
